Brendan McManus has over twenty years of sales, marketing and business development experience. He directed and executed all phases of business acquisition, sponsorship sales, relationship building and contract negotiation with sponsors, suppliers, and drivers for Chip Ganassi Racing from 1995 until 2001, RuSPORT from 2004 until 2007 and KV Racing Technology currently.
McManus developed and presented sponsorship programs to existing and potential sponsor corporations for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the CART FedEx Championship Series, Champ Car World Series and the Indy Racing League (IRL). He negotiated agreements with and managed the accounts for a number of Fortune 500 companies including Target Corp, Bell South Corp, Anheuser-Busch, Molson Coors Brewing, Coca-Cola USA, GE Corp, CDW Inc, Plantronics Inc, Hewlett-Packard Co, Dell, Fuji Photo Film USA Inc, Honda USA, Toyota Motor Corp and Bridgestone/Firestone Corp to name a few. A primary responsibility of McManus’ during his tenure at Chip Ganassi Racing and RuSPORT was to cultivate and manage the relationship between the respective team’s Primary Merchant partners (Target and CDW) and their respective vendors participated in the racing programs. He directed all operational aspects of sponsorship acquisition, activation, public relations, merchandising and hospitality. He hired, trained and managed a staff to assist in the performance of these responsibilities.
Additionally McManus explored and analyzed new business opportunities for Chip Ganassi Racing. He identified SABCO, a two-car entry NASCAR Sprint (Winston) Cup Race Team, as a potential acquisition target. McManus participated in the valuation and financing of, as well as the negotiation for, SABCO’s acquisition. He created a staff organizational structure for all sponsor related activities and renegotiated a sponsorship agreement with primary sponsor, Coors Brewing.
Outside of motorsports, McManus has been involved in a number of business ventures. He is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in Pennsylvania and was the Vice President and GM of Howard Hanna Commercial Real Estate Services in Pittsburgh prior to launching his career in motorsports. In 2001 he started his own company, Memory Medallion, Inc (MMI), with two partners. In addition to being the President on MMI he is also the President of First Person Vision, LLC a Carnegie Mellon University spin-off.
